Footage of my best recorded lap at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which occurred July 24, 2010 during a Porsche Club of America event. I am driving a 2006 Lotus Exige with a Vision Function Stage 2 kit. Video captured via HD Hero cam using a Traqmate data acquisition system. Any feedback regarding my line or other issues would be greatly appreciated.

That was a fast lap Jim! All I can say is, I'm going to have to take you out Boatman! :-) Don't be surprised if my Camaro seems really extra wide next time at the track, I'm not used to giving Red Exiges any point bys...

That's a fast lap Jim! The scary part is that it looks like you can take T 11 faster - notice how much track-out you have left over. I've been looking into buying the GoPro Hero camera but I haven't because I didn't think it was compatible with the Traqmate. I guess it is? Did you have to get anything extra/special to connect it?
See you at HMS in a couple of weeks! Carlos |

Great Lap don't worry about the stock Camaro He will be busy with my stock M-3 on the 28th I am curious to see what you're sessions will look like post the rides with David Tuaty He really is the resident expert.. I look forward to his line for you into the braking zone for ten and the pucker point of turn in To me the (novice and no expert) you are a bit mid track and early. This may be reason for lawn mowing adventures My best early mess, was out of two early into the marbles out sideways into three watching the corner workers getting off the fence and ready to drop the yellow. I held it and threw the car down into four. And then came straight in for water and a personal adjustment The water was needed to push what was in my throat back down into place |

Hi Jim
How are you? Here is some unsolicited advice. Looks like you are coasting a bit on turn one and braking early for turn two, brake later cary a bit more speed into two and track out then center into three and hug the rumble strip into three and turn slightly sooner for four and back on the throttle sooner in preparation for six and seven turn in earlier on six and cary a bit more speed looks like your braking at the 275 mark you can go deeper like the 225. On six you will understeer right at the apex because of the different surface thats ok it will get you right at the edge of the rumble strip or even on it by that time you're already wot into seven and shifting into 4 before the end of the left rumble strip on seven. Eight is pretty simple but too many take it to wide get right on the edge of the strip and stay closer to the left basically go over the painted strip if you go wide you add a lot of real estate no need for that ten is a bit tricky it really depends on your car feeling but do not take it late you'll loose time and you'll feel that big hump. Do not hesitate to put your entire car over the left rumble strip especially if you find yourself taking it too early. On 11 you can cary much more speed you should track out almost to the grass. And throw that lotus into 12 and 13 it will change direction so fast you'll be shocked that it can do that. Edited by Sebastien on Aug 14, 2010 5:04 PM |
