All,
Just want to share what happened with my car last week. This is the movie I got from Torq which explains pretty much what happened to the car. I also go a CD with images from the transformation and can supply if someone would be interested. As shown on the movie I had them put on a Pfadt Aggressor I package, Kooks full length headers and a Vararam Air intake. Since the car was tuned from before we only gained 25 additional rwhp. On the other hand, the acceleration increased a ton. What I previously only had between 5000 and 6000 rpm I now have from 4000 up to 7000. And the engine just flies past 6000 rpm's. The car was nice before, don't get me wrong. But now it is just so much more fun. The performance we got after the tune 0 - 60 mph 3.79 s (0.21 s improvement) 1/4 mile 12.0 s/114.5 mph (0.36 s/5.5 mph improvement) 50 - 120 mph 10.2 s/0.26 miles (1.45 s/0.03 miles improvement) I have not been able to validate the Pfadt package yet. The setup feels really tight. It is one level harder but still fully good to use on street. It has been cold this week and no tires have any traction. So I have not been able to test the balance yet. It is supposed to get back in the 70's this weekend I have a new set of R888 ready for Palm Beach International Raceway on Saturday. I have logged a number of events on my Traqmate, the latest just about a month ago on PBIR, so I am quite sure I will be able to measure a number of differences. I am planning to put my results in this thread. Adding a video from my last event, just to have as a reference. And last but not least, I need to recommend the guys at Torq. They are located in Miramar, Miami, FL, so probably within reach for most of us in this forum. (http://www.gettorq.co... ![]() Edited by PeO Rydgren on Dec 8, 2010 10:10 PM |

That car can do better than 1:34! Focus on more seat time, that car should be in the 1:25-1:27 range. Car sounds good!

I agree, seat time is the #1 upgrade you can possibly make. Car is looking and sounding great Peo! Looking forward to seeing you out on the tack again.

Well, 1.25 - 1.27 would be a dream come true. I would say that the car would do about 2 seconds better with a professional driver, meaning 1.32 with only R-tires. So, I am very open to hear about examples of C6's with R tires that are doing sub 1.30 times. Now, with the upgrade, I hope I will be down to 1.32. Maybe, maybe 1.31. We will see Saturday. You bet I am looking forward to it!
(And I have planned to have a very fast driver to take my car for a few laps at a later event, just to find out what my driving potential is. Then I will know better how much I can work on.) PeO. Edited by PeO Rydgren on Dec 9, 2010 8:23 PM |

Just constructive criticism here...but I turn a 1:30.2 (should be 1:29.xx) in a 350Z and I am no professional. We have a few C5/C6 Vettes here in NASA and they all turn between 1:25-1:27 in time trials.

Just constructive criticism here...but I turn a 1:30.2 (should be 1:29.xx) in a 350Z and I am no professional. We have a few C5/C6 Vettes here in NASA and they all turn between 1:25-1:27 in time trials. Those are really nice lap times. I would love to get there as well. And hopefully I will be there soon. Here is my time history for PBIR PBIR #1 Standard car, standard tires - 1.41.7 PBIR #2 Standard car, track pads - 1.40 PBIR #3 Standard car, pads, Toyo R888, 90F - 1.36 PBIR #4 Same as #3, 80F - 1.34.2 I think further potential would be Pfadt Suspension I put on - 2s Engine mods - 1s (if lucky) Slicks - 2s (compared to R888) Driving skills - 2s (who knows) Weight reduction 200 lb - 2s I am not doing the slicks or weight reduction, only the R888, Pfadt and engine, so my mental target is 1.31. But with all improvements lined up, the car could be good for 1.25 with a fast driver, just like you say. I think the list above is representative for some of the faster cars on the track. Tomorrow is a track night with Hooked on Driving. I have heard it is hard to drive when dark. We have one session in daylight. Let's see how things goes. And I will not push it beyond any limits. I will just enjoy and let the speed build up naturally. I am very excited about how the car will perform. PeO. Edited by PeO Rydgren on Dec 10, 2010 5:40 PM |

I missed you Joseph.. But I had a blast. 1.30.1 is my new record. And I can let you know that Henry agrees with you about how much faster the car can be run. I am clueless how that is possible. But I am happy puppy!
