Hello Track Junkies,
Today marks a special occasion for TrackWeekend as we celebrate our
1-year anniversary. Exactly one year ago TrackWeekend had 1 member. Today, we are over 300 members strong and continuing to grow quickly! Thanks to all of you, TrackWeekend has transformed from a small idea, to
the online destination for
all track and autocross events in FL. With this special occasion at hand, it was only fitting that we rolled out a new “official” TW logo. If you have not visited TW lately, check out the new logo:

Upcoming eventsThis is a great time of the year to be tracking your car due to the cooler weather, especially for those of you in northern parts of the country. There are a couple of interesting events coming up in March & April. Several TW members will be attending the
Porsche Club of America (PCA) event at Palm Beach Raceway on
March 20th. This will be a great event which will also include a couple of night sessions for solo drivers. This is a good event for anyone wanting to get their feet wet in motorsports as PCA has a good (high-performance) driver’s ed program. For more information on this event:
http://www.trackweekend.com/calendar/11957141/SAFE MotorsportsMany of you may not be familiar with the club SAFE Motorsports, so I’d like to introduce you to this club and one of the more
unique formats for track events. SAFE caters to the experienced driver, and hosts a 2-group format in the morning, and a
completely OPEN TRACK format in the afternoon. That means you come on and off the track as much as you want, whenever you want for
over 4 hours! This is the ultimate test & tune format, for both car and driver. If you’re planning on getting advanced coaching by one of our pro-drivers/members, like
David Tuaty, this is the event to hire them for! On a side note, advanced coaching was by-far the best upgrade I could have bought for this hobby - nothing else will make you faster!
Make plans to attend this ultimate open-track event on
April 24th at the historic
Sebring Raceway. You will be able to register for the event through TrackWeekend at:
http://www.trackweekend.com/calendar/12100150/Oh yeah, we’ll also be
giving away a couple of track days for Sebring at this event, compliments of SAFE Motorsports. Register for this event to be eligible for the drawing at the track!
NOTE: SAFE does not have a driver’s ed program, so we
do not recommend this club for beginner drivers.
As always, feel free to send me any questions, concerns, thoughts, ideas, complaints, etc.
Hoping to see all of you at the next track event!
Keep the shiny side up.
