Getting started in motorsports through autocross events
Many of our members have never participated in a track event at one of our race tracks here in FL. The thought of driving your personal car on an actual race track can be a little intimidating, and also not cheap. Autocross is a great way to get started learning car control without investing much. Autocross events are typically only $40 and you have an instructor with you teaching you what to do.

I'm happy to announce that Allan Kozick, from AAK Motorsports is our new autocross organizer. Allan has been involved in motorsports for over 20 years and is a wealth of knowledge for TW. I invite all of you who are curious to test the motorsport waters to contact Allan. For more information check out the new autocross forum here on TW.

ERME Track Event Give-Away
We are greatful to have ERME participate in our track-day give away. ERME has graciously given TW one track-day event for us to give away to our members. To be eligible, all you have to do is register for the next ERME event at Homestead Speedway on February 27, and be sure to RSVP on TW so that we know to include you in the drawing. The winner will be able to use their free track event at any future ERME event of 2010.

TrackWeekend.com's Road Rally
We've been promising you a road rally since we started TW, and now I'm happy to tell you that our first annual rally will take place on June 26, 2010. This will NOT be a race, but rather a fun yet challenging event you can participate with your family. We're trying to keep the cost of entry as low as possible, yet we are determined to put on a world-class event.

Being that we're all friends here, I'll share some of the details with you before it goes public...
Starting point will likely be Miami and the final rally point will be in the Clearwater area. The hosting hotel will be a 5-star beach-front resort, which will also host our after-party, awards ceremony and dinner.

Think of this as a weekend get-away with your lady where you can hang out with other "car people" (mostly track guys), while having an enjoyable trip through Florida and relaxing in a resort at the end.

To keep the cost as low as possible we are looking for sponsors to sponsor the event. This event will be advertised on cable TV and online. We expect to have a waiting list, therefore we will give TrackWeekend.com members a chance to sign up before registration opens to the public.

The official name of the rally is THE CONQUISTADOR RALLY presented by TrackWeekend.com. Look for the full website to go live in the next 7 days. In the mean time... www.ConquistadorRally.com
