  • By the way, we're speaking to a couple of clubs about giving us free events to give to our lady members. You may not know this, but women sometimes make better drivers on the track than men. We just need to get them out there so they can see for themselves. I'll keep you posted. Your first event could be free.

  • Barbie, if you're in town next weekend, we'll be at Homestead on Saturday & Sunday. I know Ed will be there also, so that would be a good opportunity for you to get a feel for the track in a car like yours. I'll be instructing a new driver on Sunday. As far as getting the Mini ready, I would simply change out the brake fluid to Motul 600 or ATF Super Blue. Other than that, you should be ready to rock and roll. We can also lend you a helmet. Let me know if you want to show up next Sunday.

  • Barbie, did you make it down to Homestead for last weekend's event? I didn't see you there. Ed Lasher is one of our organizers and he has a very fast Mini Cooper S. He was giving out rides last Sunday. Ask him about us passing the Lamborghini Gallardo in the Mini. Anyways, he's a good person to reach out to and get some info on prepping the Mini for the track. See you out there.

  • I may do the same, I still have to buy a helmet.

  • I am also new to this group and road racing. I am going to try and make that date as well. Need some instruction and the beginners track :-)
Hope to see you there, I don't want to be the only new guy at the track.

  • Welcome to our group Barbie. The MINI has a great racing heritage. The modern cars are fun to drive and fun to drive quickly on the track. Hope to see you out there soon on track. Porsche Club has an event at PBIR the first weekend in November. Let me know if you are interested, want more details or need some help getting registered and set up for the event.

  • Welcome fellow Mini Driver! You have an amazing vehicle. I hope you consider getting it out on the track to see what it will really do. Right off the street it is ready to give you more fun than you can imagine. Please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions on how to get started.

  • Welcome to our group Barbie, a Mini Cooper is a great car for the track. Ed, one of our organizers as an awesome Mini, I'm sure he'd answer any questions you'd have about your car. We'll be at Homestead on Sat. Oct. 9th, I'll be there along with a bunch of our members. It's free to watch, & if you want to feel what it's like to go around the track, I can give you a ride. It's a great way to get started in the sport. I hope to see you at the track...
