So this is what we're looking to do at this event....
Several of you want to meet for dinner, and I know that PCA and Sean usually have a pot-luck at the end of the event. So, in celebration of TW's 1-year anniversary, I'd like to join them in the pot-luck, Lisa will be bringging a TW birthday cake for us, and we can all have dinner at the track. Does this sound good to everyone? (back on top) :)

Juan, the track is so easy you will have the line down on your out lap. There are really only two places on the track that require any thought, for me this event is about the great people at GCR PCA, they put on a great event and really are top notch organizers.

now if we could just get a petition to let me out at night without turn signals, or headlights.

    All
Looks like my friend Brain has shown up!!!
What he fails to tell you in his 175 RWHP claim is that his car weighs less that Juan and I in a side by side GO-KART!

He is also a paid driver and paid coach.....and very very fast

I alos believe he has ESP as the fisrt time we met he look at my car and told me what the car was going to do in my next session at Sebring Yes it did it He can explain
Brian play nice !!!! These are some really good people and my buds

Sean I do not have ESP, BMW's have been my passion for along time and I have tracked all them but my 740 for obvious reasons. I have a lot of experience with these cars from when they were new to the track and had to go through all the R&D then.

I do find that the older I get the faster I was, lol.

another thing Sean forgets to tell you is I am huge cynic and practical joker.

as far as the car goes right now it weighs in at 2450, so yeah about the same as Juan and Sean in a side by side gokart. I am hoping after my panels get installed after PBIR to get around 2300, which is about the same as a Sodi kart with Peter Bekkers Ego in the seat

Brian looks to be quite the character, can't wait to meet him. I'm also curious to see what the track-Nostradamus predicts my M will turn in at PBIR :)

    Posted March 6, 2010 at 1:43 PM
  • Brian Jacobs
    Brian Jacobs

Nostradamus says a 1:33 at PBIR for you in your E46 M3, maybe a 1:42 with a good tail wind down the straight. I will still have my big steel bumpers on at this event if you want me to give you a little bump draft.

with all seriousness this track is very easy and there should not be a huge spread in lap times between an intermediate and advanced driver here (in comparison to HMS or SIR)

Do tell... I have been there a dozen times and I can use some tips.

I would also add, prepare to rotate your front tires half way through. PBIR is murder on front left tires.

    All
In order to have the first timers with PCA that have experiance elevated to Solo status you will need a check ride by a senior Instructor.
Mike Grant has asked me to give him a list to save time to place you with a senior instructor form the begining of the day to get you to Solo post the check out ride.
please send me youre driving bio

    Thats a great Idea Sean.

And remember, PCA requires you to have your car tech'd BEFORE the event, it is not a SELF TECH like HOD or ERME, and dont forget the medical form as well. No form, no drive.

I'm looking forward to this event, should be a great time.

I'm not sure how this is going to work (all of us parking together), since PBIR does not have garages. I'm going to try and get some spots by the control tower, in front of the grass. Look for my black M3 there. Lisa is bringing a TrackWeekend cake to celebrate our 1 year in existence, Juan will be wearing his John Deer hat (so look for him also). If anyone has any questions on how to get there, or where to find us, give me a call: 904-599-2569

Listen if you need a John Deere hat with me in the car our pre track interview is going to be a little longer than I had originally planned for, be there at 5:00am!I am trying to think about what to cook, maybe do a shrimp boil as it is easy. Could bring the smoker out and let it go all day, but that is a little labor intensive. Caja China could be fun, but again a pain in the ass. hmmmm.btw, one of the few things I love as much as cars is cooking!

Not to worry Brian, no grass cutting for me, they're just mad cuz I'm faster! :-) Btw, your cooking plans sound great, but a little complicated. I thought we were just going to grill up some things and enjoy some cake. Hey Sean, you're bringing a grill, right???Do you think there is room for the canopy I'm bringing???

Everyone, this event is almost here and like you, I'm very excited. I'd like to try and get all of us to park relatively close to one another. When you get there, look to the left of the tower for Sean's silver M3 and the TrackWeekend banner. I'll also be there with my black M3, and Juan in his maroon Camaro (and John Deer hat/shirt combo & overalls).

Brian, besides prepping your car, don't forget you mentioned you were going to cook for us all :)

Sean. not sure what a canon connector is but will accept 1/4 and RCA. If you can bring a long RCA to go from Satelite receiver to board. then we just run a single video RCA to TV. then again you have a PHD in this so I will shut up and follow your lead!

It was so great to be able to go from New York to Florida and " know" people. When we were waiting at the gate at 6:30 am I got out of my car and walked up the lines of cars and some guys called my name, they recognized me from this site! How great is that! The cake was also fantastic. Thanks for making it happen!!!
