We are in need of donations for the expenses for lodging, transporting and feeding the Kids and their families for the event. A $300 donation can sponsor a family of three for the event. How bout the how and the method there Mr. I drive a mostly stock car???
Ok, see if you can follow me...I called the Hotel directly and asked, "what is your lowest rate"? Remarkably, they respond with their most affordable rate of $75 a night! :-) I decided to skip the prepaid breakfast & drinks...and see if I'm in the mood or not when the time comes. It'll still be $4 for cold or $10 for a hot breakfast, or we could get those heart busting egg & bacon sandwiches at the track!
Guys, need a little help here. Trying to sign up on PBOC website and don't know if they will let me sign up as solo. I also see they have novice/intermediate/advanced with instruction. First time running with PBOC and not quite sure how to proceed... Probably just gonna do Saturday since I think my rotors are getting a little...fatigued.
Hi Ramon
I believe I can help you Send me youre contact details and a short dirivng bio.
Thanks
Sean
Hello everyone, as we approach the 3 free track events drawing for Sebring with PBOC, I wanted to make sure we didn't accidentally omit you. Be sure that you (1) RSVP "yes" for the event, (2)Write this comment in your RSVP: "include me in the drawing", (3) Be sure that you're eligible (novice students only.. *cough, cough*, Ed). If you're not sure you can attend, we will not include you in the drawing.
I have to miss Chin this weekend, but I will be there in sept with PBOC!
Hello everyone! Today we held the drawing for the 3-event give-away for PBOC at Sebring. The drawing took place in a top-secret underground bunker, but you don't want to hear about that.....
The winners: Fabian Puero, Michael Ochs, Mark Julian
In the event one or more of these winners cannot fulfill their duties, we have also randomly picked two runner-ups: 1st runner-up: Rafael Iglesias. 2nd Runner-up: Aldo Enderica
Congratulations to the winners, I hope to see all of you at Sebring!
I cannot believe I won- AWESOME!!! You guys rock. I will 100% be there.
THANK YOU!
Congratulations to the three winners, I'll see you guys at Sebring! If you have any questions, feel free to ask...
WOW!!! Definitely my lucky day! Thank you for making it possible guys. Look forward to meeting everyone and getting back on track.
OK guys, I've got my "Special Stock" brake fluid changed and my "Super Stock" brake pads ready to go... :-)
OIL CHANGED...AXLES LUBED...TIRES BOUGHT...MUSTACHE WAXED....
AND HERE I COME BABY....HERE I COME... 8>)
You forgot to cut your hair... any and all weight savings is a must!
In a strange twist of events, one of our lucky winners from the event give-away will not be able to attend. So, we contacted the 1st runner up - Rafael. Now he can't go! I didn't think it would be this difficult to give away a track event! Contacted our 2nd runner-up, Aldo.... and he is STOKED! This is going to be a great event. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Looking at the timing on this, it could be a factor. As your self-appointed weatherman, I will keep everyone posted on my uneducated findings as the storm progresses.
if the storm comes this way it looks like it will be he the monday after this event as long as it keeps moving slow.
WHAT RUNNER UP WAS I? DO I STILL CONTINUE RUNNING? I AM RUNNING OUT OF BREATH! FUNNY...YOU GIVE THE STUFF AWAY AND NOBODY CAN GO? SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!
AS OBAMA WOULD SAY...BEND OVER...RUNNER UPS ARE ON THEIR WAY 8>)
THE WEATHER? JUST A LITTLE WIND GUST AND LIGHT RAIN...NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT...WATCH YOUR LINE...KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING...AND COME IN AND OUT OF THE RUNS LIKE A REAL RACE CAR DRIVER (THAT, WE ALL ARE).
What if I just want to come up to help with the kids on Saturday, and take some out on the track without running the sessions?
John,
Just show up at the track and ask the PBOC guys what you can do to help out.
Also to all of you: I just wanted to echo Carlos post and remind you that you can make that last minute donation to support the kinds. Even if the time is not right for you to sponsor a whole family, any amount will help them, so you can send a check for 20 bucks and make a difference.

John and all.
I just spoke to Stevan Zoeller and ask if he needed any type of help He is okay for volunteers at the moment
Taking the Kids for a ride must be by a PBOC/PCA solo or better certified driver
1)I want / need to thank Sean, JJ, PBOC and all of you that have helped with the KRFL program over the past 11 years and have spoke so highly of my “Kids in this thread. Racers are a bunch of tough guys and girls, facing danger at every turn with a smile, but when faced with a child that has a terminal illness their hearts melt. I know because I’m one. That is why this is the 12th Annual event.
2)The first year, a 6 year old that was in remission had his cancer return and passed away 6 months after the event. Before that he put on his website (yes he was only 6) that he had been to Disney, Sea World and Bush Gardens but this was the best because he got to do it with his Dad and his friends from the hospital. I was only going to do this once, but after that I was hooked.
3)Raising funds this year has been–well tough, and I’ll leave it at that, because most of you will understand how things have ‘changed’. That said, JJ is correct in that “ANY amount is not only welcome but needed. We have cut back the number of families this year just to be able to do the event, I have worked for over 4 months full time knocking on doors, sending letters to donors and we are still $10,000. Shy of being able to do a full event as in the past.
4)Some are paying for their own rooms just to be able to come. (That hurts as it is not the way the program was intended) These families are suffering enough already with a child with a terminal illness, some have lost their homes, lost their jobs, lost their cars, just because of medical bills. One couple that came to help me last week with loading the trailer showed me that they had to sell their wedding rings just to pay last month’s medical bills.
5)Things like that are motivating factors that help keep this old guy out there knocking on doors. So yes JJ any amount will help, we still need to purchase water, gator-aid, and soda for 200 people for 3 days. I have had offers from people to bring items to the track, but I cannot leave with that many people coming without knowing I have the “stuff in hand before I leave, so cash is really the best no matter how much it is.
6)It cost about $120.00 per person to bring them to the track for the three days, 9 meals, rooms, t-shirts, drinks, ice, etc. We normally have just over 200 but this year we will have just under 200 people. We also have a fixed cost of about $8,000. For insurance, equipment and storage, and transportation cost for families that have lost their vehicles or don’t have one capable of making a trip out of town.
7)After talking with Sean, I thought about what volunteers we might be able to use (hate to waste an offer) and the only thing I could think of is a couple of people that would be willing to take small numbers of families around the paddock area to meet the drivers and get photos taken. Some of the teams have been so kind to the kids in the past and let them sit in a transporter, see inside a toterhome, a trailer and even polish a real race car.
8)This is big stuff to some of these kids that spend more time in the hospital than in school. The forgotten part of this is their brothers and sisters that suffer because one of their siblings has cancer, and at this event we don’t set apart the “sick kid because this is a chance for them to feel “normal if only for three days and helps their guilt feelings about what ‘my brother doesn’t get to do because I’m sick’. I’m sure that you understand.
9)Give what you can give, pray for the success of the event (30 seconds right now), (thank you) and stop by the Hall of Fame building, say HI to the families, and see Mark Miller if you want to take a family on a tour.

Marco, I know there will be several teams providing track-side support. We'll be up there Thursday and will try to save a spot for anyone who would like to park with TW.
I, unfortunatly will not be able to participate this year due to a previous commitment (9-11 memorial Trubute with DHS on Saturday) but,
My GF I will be coming up in our street car ('10 Audi A5) on Sat night to hang with the Palm Beach Mustang Club to crew and we have also volunteered to assist with the kids and families on Sunday.
Carlos. I will be there on Friday. I am sure we'd love to park with you guys. Make us a Res.
Hey Carlos! Save me a spot next to Juan's almost stock Camaro. I'll be there Friday night before 6:30 PM.
Save me a spot also I will also be there Friday night. Thanks. I was asking about tire support because I have never been to sebring before and not sure how my tires are going to hold up and was thinking about birnging an exta set just in case.
Does anyone know if PBOC follows regular flag rules or FIA flag rules?
Carlos: Do we know what garage spots we will be assigned too?
Garage spots are not assigned, and most of the time clubs do not allow people to reserve spots for other drivers. Having said that, I will know which garages we have come Friday morning. Either I or Juan will post that information here. Please note that we cannot guarantee spots for anyone, but we will definitely try to hold some for you guys.
@Marco
Just to clarify: track side support is generally available at a price but don't expect to be able to get worn out tires replaced at the track unless you have arranged for it beforehand...
Hey Ramon, I'll save you a place! Just look for the gesticulating arm pointing you towards your reserved bay! BTW Carlos, I'm "in" for the Foreign Afairs Beer Bash
Marco, do you want to make sure you don't run out of rubber for the weekend or do you need a pit crew to make your life easy? For the former, make sure you bring enough tire tread to the track (esp. watch the outside on the fronts if you run street camber settings). For track support, check the sponsors on the left. I am way too cheap for that, except once when TLM saved my ass one day. Just know that they are not a mobile tirerack.com so you typically bring your stuff to them.
And obviously, the track support guys bring a lot of experience and skills to the table, besides letting you focus on sweating while driving only.
Guys, just as a heads-up - there are a couple of shops that will be on hand that will have the equipment to change tires if need be. Foreign Affairs, one of our sponsors will have track-side support for those that need it. Marco, as long as you bring enough rubber, you'll be OK. Sebring is a little rough on tires, but it's not going to eat them up in a weekend :)
Hello everyone! Reporting live from Sebring... we have garages #7 - 12 reserved. Juan reports that 2/3 of the garages are already occupied. If anyone needs anything, here's my cell# 904-599-2569. See you guys at Sebring!!!
Hard to beat that rationale Ed! Me? I love staying at the Four Points. I like the idea of rolling out of bed and onto the track. Besides, I'm bringing family who will appreciate watching us from the comfort of the balcony :)
